'Working for and with young people'
‘The Roses Project’ was established in 1990
by Hebridean Pursuits ltd. Since then we have delivered residential
multi activity courses to over 8000 young people from all over
the UK. We continue to be one of the most highly respected residential
programme's for young people in the UK. Through highly effective
integrated partnership with our clients the programme grows from
strength to strength.
Our Imaginative and creative programme's tackle issues of social
exclusion, Issues of integration, deprivation and education.
The young people who have benefited and participated are from
a variety of socio- economic and cultural backgrounds. These
programme's are offered to school, youth work, detached and voluntary
groups and of course private family trips.
Based mainly on the Island of Mull at out outdoor centre Tavool
House these courses are designed around your groups
needs. Courses are normally six days long. You stay in the
centre as a group, with no other groups or courses to distract
you in such a peaceful setting.
The course content is based around real outdoor adventures
using a variety of AALA licensed adventure activities. With good
and plentiful home cooking, a warm comfortable centre feel and
friendly residential instructional staff it all adds up to great
value and a winning combination with quantifiable results.

"The Roses Project staff were brilliant and we would recommend them highly. Where they really excel is in their skills, experience and ability to work with vulnerable young people. The whole residential was designed to build on the specific work we are doing with the young people and the Roses staff take a young person centred approach in all their work. Feel free to speak to us if you are thinking of using them. The Roses Project have the best staff of any outdoor education project I have used. Feel free to speak to us if you are thinking of using them."
Children 1st Edinburgh
"Very challenging and imaginative - personal development aspects are well thought out and delivered with great sensitivity. All of the staff were amazed by the whole experience of the week. The residential's impact was really beyond our wildest dreams and our young people have moved forward."
Oban High School
"The staff have a deep conviction that change is possible and that the outdoor activities can be used as a tool to engage Young People, however difficult or confrontational. They induce change by a process that is empowering but very challenging".
Mohammed Aslam MBE BEM Director, Himmat Project Halifax
"This was very easily the best residential we have had and the response from the kids was amazing."
