The Roses Charitable Trust

The disadvantaged people who we work with are from urban and rural areas in which there are particularly acute issues of deprivation and social exclusion. They are in need of self-esteem building and respite. Young carers are a specific group who we aim to help but we also work with young people from challenging home environments whether in terms of poverty, race, handicap, family problems, young parenthood, sexual abuse, unemployment, inner city deprivation or rural deprivation as well as substance abusers.

We have developed our courses in consultation with organizations working with disadvantaged young people in order to identify their specific needs. Through a process of regular contact and discussion, we tailor our courses to support the ongoing work of social departments, youth workers, group leaders.

The central objective of the trust is to guarantee that this training continues to be available to those who need and want it. Whilst we ask that each member of a group raises a contribution we are left with the task of raising the remainder. This means raising sufficient funds to subsidise the cost of the courses so The Roses Charitable Trust seeks help from Charitable Benefactors.Would you be willing to support these young people by way of regular annual support or through a donation?

Comments and testaments:

"The training programme can be designed around our needs and adapted as we go and the brilliant staff who keep us safe, treat us really well and go way beyond the call of duty to ensure the residential is a success. The Roses Project have the best staff of any outdoor education project I have used. They understand youth work as well as hard outdoor skills."
Children1st, Edinburgh

"Although there are a large number of outdoor activity providers across the country who offer excellent facilities overseen by qualified staff we at Himmat continue to use the services of The Roses Project. The reason for this is the ethos of Andy and Steve who believe in tomorrow's generation and have developed the model that is conducive to implementing change. Another important factor that I have personally experienced and is very obvious to me is that all staff employed by The Roses Project share the same ethos. This highlights the effort made by your selves in seeking out and recruiting the most relevant staff"
Mohammed Aslam MBE BEM Director, Himmat Project, Halifax

"This was very easily the best residential we have had and the response from the kids was amazing."
Perth Young Carers Project

"The residential has certainly impacted on the young people's aspirations and given them things to work on for the future. We will be following these comments up in the future to see the long term impact on these young people."
